Automated Weather Stations
Automated stations are equipped with an ambient
temperature probe, precipitation gauge, and an
anemometer. Furthermore, most of the stations
record humidity, solar radiation, wind direction, and
soil temperature at multiple horizons. Data are provided
on a 24 hour basis.
Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) Weather Stations
The automated SCAN weather stations measure precipitation,
temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction,
solar radiation, and soil moisture and soil temperature at various
depths. Wind data are available every 15 minutes. All other
parameters are available on an hourly and 24 hour basis.
COOP Weather Stations
The Delta Agricultural Weather Center receives and reports data
from the National Weather Service (NWS) Cooperative Observer
Program (COOP) on a 24 hour basis. Parameters include, Max
and Min temperatures, and precipitation totals.
